I have it, what are you looking for?
Is black smoke now coming from your computer and it's crashed more than Dale Earnhardt Jr after a case of Budweiser?
Are the plugs-ins updated as well or are most of them now useless?
Any difference noticed between the new and the old that makes you say 'hell yeah, update NOW dammit!' or 'I can't tell a goddamn difference other than I don't know how to do shit now'?
No, the computer is running fine. No crashes at all.
I only have two Add Ons, one works the other doesn't, but I've found that sometimes is the case when I upgrade to a newer version. Takes a bit and then the maker of the Add On updates it and it works.
Haven't seen any difference, at least yet. If I didn't upgrade, I don't think it would have been that big a deal.
Ok, thanks. I'll wait then, because I have a bunch of plug-ins and like them very much. Flashblock (flash only runs on pages I authorize, else I must manually start all flash graphic- saves processor), Google Toolbar, Image Toolbar (adds a lot of nifty menu items for downloading images, Google Locator (can highlight an address, right click, and get the google map), and Tab Mix Plus, which adds a lot of functionality for cloning tabs, etc.
Get Image Zoom. You right click on a photo/image and you can zoom it up to like 400%. This one works with the new version.
So you have a special tool bar just for Google? I don't have that, but on the Navigation tool bar next to the field where you put in urls, I have a search engine field with Google, Yahoo, Ebay, Wiki, Amazon.com and some more. I don't think I installed it, at least I don't remember doing it. You don't have something like that?
I have a souped-up version strictly with google aps. I have little icons for my calendar, gmail, find, news, and a few other things, in addition to the standard search box.
I have one for yahoo as well, which includes a button for facebook, hotjobs, flicker, myspace, youtube, and a virus scan.
Two questions of my own:
- If I install Firefox 3.5, can I still keep Firefox 3.0 around as well?
- I have lots of add-ins installed in my Firefox 3.0, mostly for the class I'm taking. Will they automatically be installed in Firefox 3.5 without me doing anything special?
Not sure about having 3.0 and 3.5 on your computer. I think 3.5 overwrites 3.0.
As for the add-ons, the individuals developers have to write the upgrades for 3.5 Some were really good about the last upgrade, others, not so much. It's one of the reasons I've decided to hold back. I had gotten 3.0 in beta and pretty much lost all my add-ons until the developers caught up.
I have it, no black smoke, add-ons work great. No big deal. Try it. | |
